Chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate, chocolate pudding — the list of chocolate treats are endless, and so are the chances of spilling something on your clothing. Infants and fully-grown adults are equally guilty of causing an unexpected chocolate stain, but don’t worry: these brown stains are easily treatable. Here is a list of easy-to-follow tips to remove the chocolate stain from a variety of fabrics. Everyone loves chocolate - it's one of the life's greatest comfort foods and a timeless way to show affection. Chocolate stains might look dark and difficult, but they don't have to leave their mark on your clothes. You'll want to make sure you have a few simple tools on hand, namely a soft-bristled toothbrush and a reliable detergent like CLEACE washing products, the best washing powder.

Pretreat

The most important step to get rid of chocolate stains is pre-treating, which can mean the difference between good-as-new and forever stained. And remember, when it comes to chocolate stain removal, heat and time are working against you, so try not to let the chocolate melt (any more than it already has) and get to work quickly to keep it from setting and staining permanently. DO NOT attempt to wipe away the stains that are wet or damp as this will spread the stain When the stain is dry, gently scrape off the excess with the plastic knife or spoon, being careful not to grind the particles into the fabric.

Wash

Gently brush at the stain spot with small brush or toothbrush.Put a few drops of CLEACE liquid detergent onto the stain, and rub it into the stain with your thumb and forefinger.Add a drop or two of water to the stain spot and briskly rub with brush or toothbrush on BOTH sides of the fabric, using circular motions. You may need to repeat these steps several times before the stain is completely gone.

Load

Wash the garment following all care guidelines on the tag.

Unload

When cycle is completely finished, check the clothes carefully for any sign of the stain. If the stain remains, repeat the previous steps. NEVER dry clothes in a dryer if a stain remains as this will set the stain, which will then be nearly impossible to remove.
